Extra security when bank or personal details change
Published 6 July 2026. The NDIA may use additional security checks for high-risk changes, including a one-time code sent to the email address or mobile number on the participant or registered provider record. Details can also be updated securely through the official NDIS portals.
Safety reminder: never share an NDIS portal password. If you receive an unexpected code or request, contact the NDIA using an official channel.
Supported Independent Living registration changes
Effective from 1 July 2026. New providers seeking to deliver Supported Independent Living (SIL) must be registered. The government announced that existing unregistered SIL providers must apply for registration by 1 October 2026 or stop providing SIL. Participants and families should confirm a provider’s registration and discuss how any change may affect continuity of support.

New Support at Home consumer protections
Published 20 May 2026. New protections include stronger action on overcharging and missing monthly statements, quarterly publication of typical Support at Home prices, and additional education and advocacy support. Providers must continue to set reasonable, transparent prices and publish their commonly charged prices on My Aged Care.
Personal care fully funded from 1 October 2026
From 1 October 2026, eligible Support at Home participants with personal care approved in their support plan and available funding can receive approved personal care services with no out-of-pocket contribution.
