Supported Independent
Living (SIL)
Relief Wakes is registered for Supported Independent Living under Registration Group 0138 from 1 July 2026. We provide participant-led daily support at home, subject to the participant’s NDIS decision, support needs, risks, preferred living arrangement, safe staffing, funding and our current capacity.
✅ NDIS Registered
Registered NDIS Provider No. 4053361903. SIL Registration Group 0138 applies from 1 July 2026.
🛡️ SIL Practice Standards
Participant choice, supported decision-making, safeguarding and clear housing/support arrangements guide our intake and service planning.
🌙 Assessed Support Schedule
Daytime, overnight or continuous support is considered only when it is assessed, funded, agreed and safely staffed.
📍 Brisbane & Ipswich QLD
Serving participants across Brisbane, Ipswich, Springfield, and South East Queensland.
Our Shared Living / SIL Supports
Planned supports may be delivered in a shared or individual living arrangement when they are included in the participant’s plan and agreed schedule of supports.
Daily Household Task Assistance
Support with daily household activities in shared living arrangements to maintain a comfortable home.
Meal Preparation & Nutrition
Support with planning and preparing meals according to the participant’s preferences, dietary instructions and agreed support plan. Food costs are not included in SIL funding.
Personal Care Assistance
Respectful personal care support within shared accommodation, delivered with dignity.
Independent Living Skills
Building the skills you need to live more independently and confidently day-to-day.
Rostered & Overnight Support
Active, sleepover or other rostered arrangements are considered only when assessed, funded, agreed and safely staffed.
Household Routines & Choice
Support with agreed household routines and decision-making. Housing, tenancy, rent and support-provider responsibilities remain clearly separated and documented.
Who Is This Service For?
SIL is generally for participants with higher support needs who require significant help at home. The NDIA decides whether SIL is included in a participant’s plan.
Transitioning to Independent Living
If you are considering a move, we first confirm your NDIS home-and-living decision, discharge or transition requirements, risks, preferences and the responsibilities of each organisation involved.
Already in Shared Living
If you already have a living arrangement, we assess whether Relief Wakes can safely provide the requested supports without limiting your choice of housing, support coordinator or other providers.
What is SIL (Supported Independent Living)?
SIL funds support workers who help with day-to-day tasks at home. It is not the housing itself and does not pay rent, board, groceries, utilities, internet or other ordinary living costs. A participant may live with other NDIS participants or alone, depending on their assessed needs. Read the current NDIS SIL guidance. Relief Wakes also works to the SIL-specific NDIS Practice Standards, including participant rights, supported decision-making, safeguarding, practice governance and separation of housing and support arrangements.
Who Can Access This Support?
You may enquire if your plan includes relevant home-and-living support. Relief Wakes must verify the participant’s current funding, Registration Group 0138 requirements, current SIL claiming rules, service suitability, risks, staffing and capacity before accepting a service.

Responsible partnerships—without registration borrowing
Relief Wakes welcomes structured enquiries from providers, support coordinators, housing providers and organisations planning a safe participant transition. A partnership enquiry does not authorise another provider to operate under Relief Wakes’ registration.
Check the correct transition pathway
Providers who were already delivering SIL before 1 July 2026 may have a transition pathway. Confirm your position directly with the NDIS Commission; do not assume that a commercial partnership replaces registration.
New SIL delivery must be authorised
Organisations starting SIL after the new requirements commenced must not manage or deliver SIL unless the applicable registration and regulatory requirements have been met.
Complete a controlled assessment
We assess participant choice and consent, service scope, worker suitability, insurance, safeguarding, incident and complaint responsibilities, records, funding, conflicts and capacity before any arrangement is approved.
Information current at publication and provided as general guidance only. Each organisation remains responsible for its own registration, legal duties and professional advice. Relief Wakes accepts arrangements only after documented review and approval.
Discuss Your SIL Support Needs
Tell us about the participant’s goals, current plan, preferred living arrangement and support schedule. An enquiry is not a promise of housing, funding or service acceptance.
