Sewing Workspace — Project Wote Pamoja

About the Project

A Project Born From Passion & Purpose

This project was founded based on my passion to share my skills and talents with others. I am deeply passionate about sewing — it is something I enjoy doing and I hope others will be able to share in this joy with me.

This project will target both women and men from different backgrounds with a disability, interested in learning how to sew and even those wanting to upgrade their current skills.

I will be sharing my knowledge in alterations, design making and cutting, and the construction of a variety of pieces including clothes and accessories.

🎯 The Project Scope

Supporting Women with Disability of all ages and Cultural backgrounds

Our Vision

Vision, Objective & Together As One

🔭

Vision

To equip as many individuals as possible with a life-long skill that can turn into a hobby or possible business venture. Every individual who partakes in this project will feel empowered and confident — knowing that anything is achievable if you are willing to put in the work.

To uplift the spirit of women from all communities by enabling them to take centre stage regardless of their appearance and impairment — showcasing their talents, beauty, value, and rights with the support of their families, friends, and the wider Queensland community.

🎯

Objective

Project Wote Pamoja is primarily aligned with women's participation and leadership strategy. By giving women this platform to showcase their value and rights, their ability to shine, their confidence and — more importantly — their appreciation of who they are and their role in the community is a starting point towards a meaningful participation of women in all communities.

🤝

Together As One

The women with disability, confident in their own skills, providing their talents, and appreciating their beauty while enjoying their independence and acceptance by society.

To give women the opportunity to build confidence so that they become leaders and influential members in our communities.

Our Goals

Three Goals That Drive This Project

Every aspect of Project Wote Pamoja is guided by these three core goals — each designed to empower, connect, and build independence.

Goal 1

Teach People a New Skill

I aim to teach people a new skill that can help them in life — from simple alterations to the creation of goods. This is a skill that can assist people in everyday life or be the stepping stone to a hobby or business venture.

Goal 2

Create a Community Safe Space

Creating a safe place where people with similar interests can gather, learn together, and support one another. A welcoming, inclusive environment where everyone belongs.

Goal 3

Encourage Independence in People with a Disability

This project is capable of encouraging independence for people with a disability. Participants will learn to be able to confidently sew all on their own — building lasting skills and self-reliance.
